eLearning Graduation Requirement

Students are required to earn two online learning credits to graduate from secondary school. This requirement exists for every student that entered grade 9 during or after the 2020-2021 school year. 

This requirement is intended to support students and families in developing familiarity with working and learning online. It also intends to support the acquisition of digital literacy, which is an important and transferable skill. 

As with all learning, students taking online courses will have access to supports they need through Eastdale.

Parents and guardians are able to opt their child out of the mandatory online courses required for graduation. Students over the age of 18 can opt themselves out of this requirement. 

If you wish to opt your child or yourself out of the eLearning requirement, please fill out the opt-out-form-for-elearning and return it to Eastdale's guidance department.
